Alexander Danne leads the firm’s Energy + Infrastructure team, comprising its project and project financing practice.

His key areas of practice are project and infrastructure procurement and associated financings. Alexander works with project proponents, arrangers, financiers, borrowers and investors on energy and infrastructure projects.

Alexander has wide-ranging renewables experience including advising on the $3 billion Tilt Renewables acquisition, the Macarthur Wind Farm, the Kwinana Waste-from-Energy project, the Springvale Water Treatment Plant, and Greenough River Solar Farm.

Andrew is the former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Dow Chemical Company and the former Executive Chairman of DowDuPont. He had over 42 years’ global leadership experience with The Dow Chemical Company, with roles in manufacturing, engineering, sales, marketing, and business and general management around the world. Andrew is a director of IBM, Saudi Aramco, Worley and NOVONIX Limited and is an advisor to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Andrew holds Australian Government positions as a member of the Industry Growth Centres Advisory Committee and was Co-Chair of the Territory Economic Reconstruction Commission. He was the former Chair of the National COVID- 19 Coordination Commission’s Manufacturing Taskforce. Andrew co-founded and Chairs The Hellenic Initiative to support economic renewal in Greece. He was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia in 2014 for his services to international business.

Andrew has over 25 years’ experience leading audit and client teams serving some of Australia’s largest corporates.

Andrew has been a partner with EY for over 20 years and is currently the Managing Partner for NSW. 

Andrew’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Economics (Honours) and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and Finsia. Alongside his time in the corporate sector, Andrew was an Officer in the Australian Army Reserve for many years and retired with the rank of Captain.

Mr. Avi Hasson served in the government of Israel as the Chief Scientist and the Chairman of the Israel Innovation Authority. He currently splits his time between for-profit and for-purpose activities.

Among his business responsibilities, Mr. Hasson is a partner with Emerge, a leading early stage venture capital firm based in Tel Aviv. He also serves on the board of directors of Tower Semiconductors (NASDAQ:TSEM) the leading foundry of high value analog semiconductor solutions.

His non-for profit activities include serving at the board of directors of Sheba medical center at Tel Hashomer (selected as one of the top 10 best hospitals in the world ), of SpaceIL – an NGO established in 2011, wishing to promote scientific and technological education in Israel with the aim of landing the first Israeli spacecraft on the moon (“Beresheet”), and of ITC – Israel Tech Challenge – An NGO addressing the industry-wide shortage of tech talent by enabling selected professionals of all age and background to train and work in the most sought-after technical positions in the tech industry.

Mr. Hasson is also a member of Business Roundtable Israel  - an association of chief executive officers of Israel’s leading companies working to promote a thriving economy and expanded opportunity for all Israelis through sound public-private-partnership.

Mr. Hasson was Israel’s Chief Scientist and the Chairman of the Israel Innovation Authority (2011-2017). The Israel Innovation Authority (IIA, formerly the Office of the Chief Scientist) is the government entity in charge of planning and execution of innovation policy in Israel. Specifically, IIA assists in the development of technology in Israel as a means of fostering economic growth, encouraging technological innovation and entrepreneurship, leveraging Israel’s scientific potential, enhancing the knowledge base of industry in Israel, stimulating high value-added R&D and encouraging R&D both nationally and internationally. A variety of ongoing funding and support programs developed and offered by the IIA play a major role in enabling Israel to be a notable hub of innovation and tech entrepreneurship.

Mr. Hasson was the initiator of the Israel Innovation Authority and led the strategic and organizational transformation from the Office of Chief Scientist to this new authority. 

For 10 years prior to his appointment to government, Mr. Hasson was a General Partner at Gemini Israel Funds, one of Israel’s top tier venture capital firms. At Gemini, he managed the fund’s investments in the fields of communications, storage and consumer electronics.

Prior to his term in Gemini, Mr. Hasson spent nearly a decade in leading telecom technology companies such as ECI Telecom, ECtel and Tadiran systems, where he held executive positions in the fields of product management, marketing and business development.

Mr. Hasson is a graduate of the HAMAN-TALPIOT program where he served as an officer in 8200, an Israeli defense forces elite intelligent unit.

Mr. Hasson holds a Bachelor Degree (BA) from Tel Aviv University in Economics and Middle East Studies (1997) as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Tel Aviv University (2002).

Mr. Hasson resides in Modii’n, Israel. He is married and has three children.

Chris Mitchell is Managing Director of Optus Enterprise, providing comprehensive and integrated ICT solutions including mobile, voice and data services; cloud; cyber security; IT services; professional consulting and managed services to large scale businesses, key Federal/State Government Departments, and Local Government.

Chris is passionate about impacting Australian innovation in fundamental technologies like 5G, cyber security, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things and Software-Defined Networks. 

Chris brings a wealth of knowledge and considerable experience across the Technology, Telecommunications Services, Financial Services and Manufacturing sectors, having worked with major corporations and government agencies across the United Kingdom, Europe, the United States and Asia throughout his career.

Prior to joining Optus in July 2019, Chris spent many years at PricewaterhouseCoopers in senior leadership roles, the last being Global COO of PwC's Worldwide Consulting Competency Centres which provided thought leadership and deep subject matter expertise and solutions for clients in Cyber Security, Enterprise Applications and Transformation, Technology Advisory Services, Digital Operations (IoT), Intelligent Automation, Artificial Intelligence and Agile.

Previously, Chris was Managing Director of EDS in Australia and New Zealand as well as President for EDS Strategic Technology Services in the USA. Prior to this Chris Vice President Asia Pacific Communications at A.T. Kearney.

Daphna Nissenbaum is the CEO and Co-Founder of TIPA® Compostable Packaging, leading to revolutionize packaging systems and rid the world of plastic pollution. TIPA® fully compostable flexible packaging replaces conventional plastic, turning waste into a resource, and crisis into an opportunity. 

Before launching TIPA®, Daphna held several management positions, including CEO of the Caesarea Center for Capital Markets and Risk Management at the Interdisciplinary Center (IDC), Herzliya, account management at SPL World Group Ltd, and project management at Whelty Lager Ltd., located in Boston MA, USA. 

Daphna graduated with honors from IDC Herzliya with an MBA in Marketing and Entrepreneurship. A graduate of the Israel Defense Forces (Mamram-elite program) and Bar Ilan University, Daphna holds a BA in Economics and Software Engineering. During her service in the Israeli navy, she was a captain in the software unit.

David Thodey is a business leader focused on innovation, technology and telecommunications with more than 40 years of experience.
 
He is currently Chairman of Australia’s national scientific research agency, the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO); Tyro, Australia’s only independent
EFTPOS banking institution; and Xero, a cloud-based accounting software provider for small and medium-sized businesses. Mr Thodey is also a non-executive Board director of Ramsay Health Care, a global hospital group.
 
Mr Thodey also is active in public policy and recently lead an Independent Review of the Australian Public Service (APS) in 2019. This review was commissioned by the Prime Minister to
ensure that the APS is fit-for-purpose to serve Australian Governments and the Australian people into the future. In 2020 he chaired an eminent Panel appointed by the NSW Government to lead an independent review of Federal Financial Relations.

From March to December 2020, Mr Thodey was appointed Deputy Chair of the Federal Government’s National COVID-19 Coordination Commission (NCC) Advisory Board. During this time Mr Thodey and the Board supported the Prime Minister and Government to
successfully navigate Australia through the extraordinary challenges faced during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Prior to his non-executive career, he had a successful career as CEO of Telstra, Australia’s leading telecommunications and  information services company and prior to that, he was CEO of IBM Australia and New Zealand. 
 
Mr Thodey was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Science and Technology from Deakin University in 2016 and an Honorary Doctorate of Business from University of Technology
Sydney in 2018.

In 2017, Mr Thodey was made an Officer (AO) in the General Division of the Order of Australia for ethical business leadership.

Deena Shiff was a senior executive in the telecommunications industry for over twenty-five years. As Group Managing Director at Telstra, she ran Telstra Wholesale, set up and managed Telstra Business and established Telstra’s corporate venture capital arm, Telstra Ventures.

In her legal career, Ms Shiff has acted as government adviser, in-house Counsel and as a Partner at law firm Mallesons Stephen Jaques.

Deena is a full time non executive director with a portfolio that has focussed largely on growth stage technology companies listed on the ASX. She is currently Chairman of the Supervisory Board of e commerce company, Marley Spoon AG (ASX:MMM) and is a non executive director on the boards of AI services company, Appen (ASX:APX) and health software companies  Pro Medicus  (ASX:PME) and Healthcare IT Pty Ltd.

Deena is also the Chairman of the Australian Broadband Advisory Council and serves on the board of Infrastructure Australia,. She is also on the board of Opera Australia. 

In 2015, Ms Shiff chaired the Australian Government’s Regional Telecommunications Independent Review Committee. She has also served on the NSW Government Digital Economy Task Force.

Dr. Clark was the inaugural Head of the Australian Space Agency and is now Chair of the agency’s Advisory Board. She is a non-executive director of CSL Limited and Rio Tinto and a member of the Global Advisory Council of Bank of America. She was Chief Executive of the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) from 2009 to 2014 and was Vice President Technology and subsequently Vice President Health, Safety and Environment at BHP from 2003 to 2008. 

Dr Clark holds a BSc from the University of Western Australia and a PhD from Queen’s University, Canada and is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering, the AusIMM and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.  In 2014, she was appointed a Companion of the Order of Australia.

Dr Salvado is a Senior Principal Research Scientist (eq. Professor) leading the AI for Missions initiative, a $25M program to develop next generation AI technology to support large Missions across the CSIRO in collaboration with external partners. Dr Salvado has been the head of CSIRO Imaging and Computer Vision (35+ staff) since 2018. He joined CSIRO in 2007 and grew a medical imaging team from 8 to 20 staff over a decade. Prior to that, has held various engineering and project management positions in industry.  Dr Salvado graduated with a PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Imaging from CWRU Case Western Reserve University, and he is Honorary Professor at Queensland University of Technology and Griffith University. Dr Salvado has more than 300 peer-reviewed publications, which have attracted more than 11,000 citations. He regularly contributes to organising international conferences (e.g. ISBI 2018, 2021), chair sessions (ISBI, ICASSP), and was the general Chair of ISBI 2017. Dr Salvado is a regular reviewer for scientific journals and grants including NHMRC and ARC (main Scientific Australian funding bodies).

Dror Bin is the CEO of the Israel Innovation Authority, an independent public entity that operates to nurture and develop the Israeli innovation ecosystem, while enabling progressive governmental policy, creating necessary infrastructures and making direct investments in the industry.

Prior to his role at the Innovation Authority, Dror Bin has served as President and CEO of RAD, a leading global telecom network solutions company, headquartered in Tel Aviv, with a manufacturing center in Jerusalem and R&D center in Beer Sheva as well as dozens of corporate branches around the world.

Bin also served in a series of positions for close to a decade at Comverse, the last one as a member of the global management team and VP of Global Sales. Following this, Mr. Bin served as a venture partner at Viola Ventures. In addition, Mr. Bin served as a partner at Shaldor, a leading top management consulting firm in Israel, where he led the development and implementation of business and marketing strategies for major organizations in the high-tech, industry, commerce, services and more.

Bin holds two bachelor’s degrees from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology: one in information systems engineering and the other in industrial engineering, as well as an MBA (marketing and financing) from the Tel Aviv University.

Dr. Orna Berry is an entrepreneur, computer scientist, industry executive and the former chief scientist in the government of Israel. Orna is known for her efforts to promote excellence, entrepreneurship, innovation, women in science and technology in the Israeli society and beyond.

In the last three years she has planned research infrastructure in TELEM, established by the Israeli Academy of Sciences, and chaired the committees building the national programs for Quantum Science and Technology and for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science.

Throughout her career, Dr. Berry has been the recipient of various awards.

Dr Sue Keay runs the Australian Centre for Robotic Vision, an ARC Centre of Excellence, tackling the complex challenge of applying computer vision to robotics. With more than 100 researchers distributed across Australian and overseas research institutions, the Centre aims to create new robotic vision technologies that will expand the capabilities of robots. Once robots can see and understand their environment we will finally reach the tipping point where robots can assume capabilities that have previously only been imagined.

With a PhD in Earth Sciences, Sue has demonstrated national leadership, directing and ensuring impact from multidisciplinary R&D programs spanning science, engineering, business, economics and law. Recently, Sue developed a successful $1.5m R&D project on humanoid robotics supported by the Queensland government to explore the vision capabilities of Softbank's social robot, Pepper. A Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Sue serves on the Board of the CRC for Optimising Resource Extraction. She is completing her MBA with UQ Business School, gaining a deep insight into public cloud adoption and cybersecurity as part of an international consulting project with the Wharton Business School (UPenn).

Tomer Simon, Ph.D., is a Futurist and Strategist. Today, Tomer is the Chief Scientist of Microsoft Israel R&D Center in the CTO Office. Previously, Tomer was the National Technology Officer in Microsoft Israel, and formerly the futurist and senior director of Academic Research and Innovation in Amdocs. Tomer brings with him more than 20 years of experience in the technology and IT worlds, including technology research, software development and managing and establishing large development centers. Tomer has deep expertise in designing and leading digital transformations, AI, quantum computing, automation and the future of work. Today, Tomer works with numerous executives from the defense and private sectors in building organizational and national level strategies, and is a member in four governmental steering committees on internet infrastructure, academy-industry relations, digital talent and on the future of education in the age of AI.

During the Covid-19 crisis Tomer was invited to be a member in the Prime Minister's Exit Strategy team, which designed and created the mechanism to allow the release and return of economic activities in Israel.

Elizabeth joined the Commission as Chief Executive Officer in January this year.

Prior to her appointment, Elizabeth was the Deputy Secretary, Greater Sydney at Transport for New South Wales where she was responsible for delivering customer-centred services and infrastructure for the Sydney metropolitan area.

She’d previously held the positions of Deputy Secretary of Customer Technology and Services and Deputy Secretary of People and Corporate Services at TfNSW.

Elizabeth’s earlier executive roles included Director of Australian Programs for Save the Children Australia and Victorian Group General Manger for Transurban in Melbourne.

She is passionate about harnessing stakeholder and employee engagement and new technologies to achieve new levels of service.
